According at ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Services's) there has been a rise in the number of claims at employment tribunals.
The figure is up nearly 30% from last year. This has been seen as a direct consequence of the Supreme Court’s ruling that tribunal fees were unlawful and scrapping them.
Fees in 2013 were introduced at £160 but quickly rose in some cases up to £1200. It was argued that this restricted employees, particularly those on low incomes, from getting their right to justice.
